Internationalisation Strategy
Internationalisation Strategy of the Lviv National Academy of Arts — 2030
The Internationalisation Strategy of the Lviv National Academy of Arts (LNAA) has been developed in alignment with the overall Development Strategy of the Academy. It is consistent with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for the period up to 2030 and corresponds to Ukraine’s Cultural Development Goals 2030.
The Strategy reflects Ukraine’s European integration priorities, in particular the implementation of the EU–Ukraine Association Agreement in the fields of education and culture, and aims to strengthen LNAA’s active participation in the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) and the European Research Area (ERA).
Internationalisation at the Lviv National Academy of Arts is understood as a cross-cutting institutional priority that supports academic excellence, artistic innovation, and institutional sustainability. It focuses on strengthening international partnerships, expanding academic mobility, integrating international and intercultural perspectives into teaching and learning, and enhancing the global visibility and reputation of the Academy as a leading higher education institution in the field of arts in Ukraine.
Strategic Objectives:
1. Strengthening International Cooperation
To expand and consolidate LNAA’s international network of strategic and sustainable partnerships in the fields of higher education, arts, and research.
To establish long-term cooperation with cultural institutions, creative industries, and business stakeholders at the international level in order to attract financial, material, and technical resources that support the Academy’s educational, artistic, and infrastructural development.
To increase the involvement of LNAA academic and artistic staff in international grant schemes, collaborative artistic initiatives, and research projects, including EU-funded programmes and other international funding instruments.
2. Expanding Academic Mobility
To diversify and systematise academic mobility opportunities for students, doctoral candidates, and academic staff by ensuring transparent, regularly updated information on calls for applications, deadlines, and eligibility criteria.
To develop sustainable institutional mechanisms for the financial support of academic mobility through targeted scholarships, internal mobility grants, and reimbursement schemes covering participation in international programmes and projects.
To increase both inbound and outbound academic mobility flows and to broaden participation among students, doctoral candidates, and academic staff across disciplines.
3. Internationalisation of Educational Programmes
To enhance the international dimension of LNAA’s educational offer by increasing the engagement of visiting international lecturers and implementing joint teaching formats, including international modules and courses delivered in cooperation with partner institutions, in particular within the framework of Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL).
To expand the catalogue of elective courses by developing and delivering courses taught in English, thereby increasing accessibility for international students and strengthening the international learning environment.
To initiate and implement joint and double-degree programmes in cooperation with foreign higher education institutions, ensuring academic quality, mutual recognition, and long-term sustainability.
4. Development of the Academy’s Global Profile and Visibility
To ensure LNAA’s continuous and active presence on international professional and academic platforms (including, but not limited to, ELIA and CUMULUS) through institutional membership, participation in conferences, forums, exhibitions, and thematic initiatives.
